Hey guys! Its been too long. Lets see...what to blog about....? Has anyone ever made boxed angel food cake? Is there a secret to that one that I should know about. Not once but twice yesterday we had a bunt cake overflow-slash-collapsing into shriveled pile of sugary cake mess. What the? I normally love baking but yesterday the stars where not aligning in my direction. We did however have an awesome Young Women in Excellence activity yesterday that I was really really happy about. I wish I took pictures. The decorations where incredible and so creative. We had assorted apothecary vases with huge purple flowers as centerpieces and gold and red plates. Fancy silverware, gold trimmed goblets, chocolate fountain with assorted sweets...words cant really describe how beautiful it all looked.

On another note, Jake has been busy learning Turkish these days. Yes, Turkish. He has a gift when it comes to learning languages and he really enjoys picking them up. I tried teaching him Spanish. He understands everything I say and can hold up a conversation pretty well with my family. He is teaching Bella some Russian words. Yeah I tried learning that one and lets just say the alphabet looks like pretty scribbles. haha. I will learn it one day.

Halloween with Minnie Mouse

So here is the minnie costume I made with my grandma for Bella- minus the ears because she would refuse to keep those on. We compromised with a matching white bow.

She got the trick-or-treat thing down fast and would not only knock on the doors and grab the candy but figured out how to quickly tear apart the packaging and get a piece of the candy in one bite without eating the wrapper. ?
That was the first time she has had "real" sugar and she of course loved it. She loved running down the street and chasing the other trick-or-treaters. Bella with Robert and Isaac at the mall.
After a few stops at the neighbors we went to my in-laws, my grandma's, and to the mall for some goodies. We had some Nicolitalias and watched a scary movie at our house. I love halloween festivities!

Alrighty so this past week Jake got the swine flu....gasp! His nurse said that Bella and I probably got it too since we all live together but neither of us had any symptoms so who knows but it sure was fun disinfecting the house for hours on end! Jake was prohibited from going onto BYU campus for a week and a half, yet so many people who have it, hence the person who got him sick, have been so considerate of others by going to class even though they have the swine flu! It will never make sense to me. He is doing much much better and he went to the Dr. today to get a checkup and they said he no longer has it but now he has a sinus infection. Poor Jake.

We are excited for this weekend. I have been making Bella a costume for Halloween which if it turns out cute I will post pictures.
She has been such a busy little lady lately. She loves to boss me around and says no, no, no. She also loves to play hide and seek and she really hides from me. Then she comes out of her hiding spot and claps her hands even though I didn't find her yet, she just gets sooo excited that she can't contain herself. She loves bedtime stories and will make me read them to her over and over and over again. It makes me happy that she loves books. She likes flexing her muscles and then clapping. Come to think of it, she claps after everything she does. I think its cute.
